An oasis of calm and peace is the only way to describe this wonderful place. 200 years ago these gardens serviced the Colclough Estate (pronounced Coke-Lee) whose home was TIntern Abbey. When the family left the area, the gardens, over time, became forgotten and overgrown. However in 2010 renovations began and it has now, under careful care, been restored to its former glory. Like many walled Victorian gardens, it is divided into two parts, a floral area and kitchen garden all surrounded by high red brick walls that create a warmer and protected environment for the plants and trees within to flourish. Situated beside Tintern Abbey, it is accessed through their visitor centre and shouldn't be missed at any time of the year!
