Castlecomer Golf Club is situated just 15 minutes from Kilkenny City. The course is set in a 200 year old forest of elevated beauty, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, framed by the canopy of the woodland. Castlecomer’s course provides a great test of golf combined with breath taking views of the local terrain. With the development of this course completed in 2003, it is clear to everyone at Castlecomer Golf Club that Pat Ruddy has designed a unique Golf Course. This year we are delighted to announce a new course layout that involves no return to the higher ground when the first 9 holes are completed. This has been achieved without altering the integrity of the course, each hole retaining the character and make up as originally conceived by the great course designer Pat Ruddy. We have added a new pathway through the old section of woodland that links hole 7 (formerly 12) with hole 8 (formerly 11). We are confident that the new changes will be enjoyed by everyone as it has by those that have already had the pleasure of playing it. To celebrate the course enhancement we have introduced some great incentives and rates for both societies and visitors to come and experience the improvements. We are sure you will find it very much to your satisfaction. At Castlecomer we are looking forward to a great year of golf with a hope that the Summer matches the one we experienced last year. We have a great programme of fixtures planned and apart from the serious business of competition we plan that the social side of golf will have plenty of space also. Check out our great rates for membership, societies and visitors on this website.
